Dream: Ring and Necklace by Doodleholic Dream: Ring and Necklace by Doodleholic
*Edit2: This design is now available in my etsy shop. Click here* Sold out, for now!</span></span>

*Edit: So, I've decided to make a few more of these and sell them on etsy. This won't happen immediately since I have to get the materials/work on pricing, but if you're interested in buying, let me know, and I can shoot you a note when I do start selling them.*

Final on Tumblr

Rainbow moonstone and filigree necklace and ring set.

I chose rainbow moonstone because it can look like plain, clear crystal, but then, if you turn it this way and look into it-

Not what I normally do at all, but I was quite pleased with how these came out since I only had a vague idea of how to go about it. That concepts in sculpture class I took in college actually came in handy for once.

But now I remember why I don't make jewelry: my thumbs are still tender and I made these last night. @_@

The colors of the brass look weird in the photo, but they don't seem off in person. Also, you can't really see the pretty flash of the moonstones. Ah well. :shrug:

I'll go back to fanart/fanfiction creation now.

Absolutely beautiful job! I like making jewelry myself, but this far surpasses anything I do. <3

:blush: Thank you!

To be fair, I've been thinking about making these for a long time and probably spent months figuring out what I wanted to use for the 'crystal.' >>;

Oooooooh! That's so very pretty! Perhaps if I stare at it long enough, it'll give me a plot idea, yes? *stare* No? Okay, maybe later, after I've actually slept. xD

I do love it, though. Very nice choices...

Thank you!

Oh, it might! But only if you turn it this way and look into it will you show you your plot! :B

PFFFFFT. xD The crystal's a bit cloudy at the moment, but I'll keep on staring, just in case...

*nod, nod* The King's crystals work in mysterious ways... and on their own obnoxiously persnickety schedule. >>;

*snicker* Oh yes. Of course they only obey their master...so it's really HIS fault. xD Then again, I have enough stories to work on as it is. He's likely waiting until I get a few of the shorter ones done before giving me any more inspiration aside from plot bunnies for ones in progress. Wise choice, Sire. I don't have to hurt you now. OwO

Eeee! Thank you!

I'm not going to sell my set, but I've pretty much decided that I'm going to make a few rings and necklaces of this design and sell them on etsy. It will be a few weeks, though. I have to figure out pricing and get the materials. (Mainly the moonstone! It's tricky to find for reasonable prices!)

I love the moonstone the most! It's my birthstone, plus it looks so much like Jareth's crystal balls! So if you sell the ring or the set for $25 or under I'll buy it for sure!

Lucky! Moonstone is lovely! c: And yes, it does!

I'm still pricing materials, shipping, etsy/paypal fees, etc, but I'm trying to keep the total price under $30 for each. The necklace might end up being a few dollars more than the ring since it has more "materials" costs, though.

I can't take credit for the filigree beyond choosing ones I though were pretty and then attaching them all together. xD

Eeee! I'm not interested in selling these, sorry! I've had this project in the back of my mind for a while and just made these for myself.

They weren't terribly difficult to make. I could link you to all the components I used to make them and a video tutorial, if you want to make your own?

Beautiful! How you are able to create these pieces by hand, I'll never know.

Be proud, these are beautiful. And I'm not even one for jewelry...

Also, the title, was this in someway inspired by the ever wonderful Labyrinth?

Weeeeeeeeell, yes, my whole idea behind making these might have been was definitely inspired by the ever wonderful Labyrinth. >>;

It was tedious and annoying when everything kept slipping around, but it's not terribly difficult, per se. It's just fiddly work that requires patience. And there's a helpful video here. It shows the basically how to do it, though I made things harder for myself by adding another piece of filigree.
